"The photos were taken on the Dancing Green at the VE Day celebrations. I don’t know many of the names of people but a couple of my cousins are looking at the photos and will let me know anyone they recognise.
I am in the front Row of the children’s photo my cousin John Jones has his arm around me. I was almost a year old. My Aunt Margaret Griffiths (nee Jones) is at the back.
The adult photo has my Mum Miriam Watkinson (nee Jones) ,my Aunt Phyllis Jones and my Grandmother Bess Jones.
The tank one has my father Ronald Watkinson on the motorbike. He was a dispatch rider. It was taken just after D-day in France. I remember Dad telling us that the man in the White coat was a French Shopkeeper a Butcher I think. I don’t know the names of any of the others."
