A black and white photograph of an office block in Bridge Street, adjacent to large granaries where an immense quantity of grain etc was stored. There was a great risk of this food reserve being destroyed by incendiary bombs. A contrast in buildings and watchers is shown in the imaginary sketch of the castle keep which formally stood 350 yards away (removed in 17th Century). Subtitled 'A Hereford moment of the 1939 - 1945 war'. |
