Description | Black and white photograph of the ruins of Avenbury church, Herefordshire from the north-east. The church began in the 12th century and closed in 1931. It is believed to be haunted as the bells prior to being removed, have tolled by themselves to denote bad news along with music being played late at night. The bells were taken to St Andrew-in-the-wardrobe, London where they have been heard at unusual times. |
