Description | A black and white photograph of Bishop John Percival (1834-1918) wearing cassock, surplice and tippet seated in his study. He became the first headmaster of Clifton College, Bristol, in 1862, before helping to establish Clifton High School for Girls in 1877 and University College, Bristol, in 1876. In 1879, he became President of Trinity College, Oxford. In 1887, he became headmaster of Rugby School in Ruby, Warwickshire. He was Bishop of Hereford from 1895-1917. |
