Description | A black and white photograph of a monoplane in front of a packed grandstand at Hereford racecourse. This was taken on the occasion when the pioneer aviator flew in his Bleriot monoplane to Hereford on a Daily Mail demonstration flight."Although Salmet made a flight at Ross in the morning and went on to Hereford, he was unable to fly on to Worcester in the evening" (Source Flight Magazine July 27th 1912).This was the first aeroplane to be seen in Hereford according to Mr Percy Pritchard (Source: MotorSport 1981). |
