| Description | Black and white photograph of Nicholas Monck, Bishop of Hereford 1660-01. He was born in Devon and ordained in 1631. He was given a Doctor of Divinity and made Bishop of Hereford as a reward for helping the exiled King Charles II. Nicholas never visited Hereford and died in Westminster on 17th December, 1661 He is buried in St Edmund's Chapel, Westminster Abbey. |
