Description |
A black and white photograph of a group of 11 soldiers in front of tents. Their kepis have plates on the front surmounted by a ball. They are wearing full dress uniforms which would have been red with blue trousers. Tunics are buttoned to the neck with a stand-up collar, white belts fastened with a snake clasp and with a leather pouch. One has the insignia of a sergeant, another a corporal. They are shod in hobnail boots and are sitting on, variously, an upturned bucket and a large coffee pot. Their rifles with socket bayonets are stacked up next to them. |
