Title | Soldiers and civilians in front of army tents |
---|---|
Description |
A black and white informally posed photograph. The soldiers are all in pill box hats. Most wear tunics with elaborate raised braiding on the sleeves and frogging and toggle fastenings on the chest. Two are wearing very short fitted tunics with a white shoulder sash and may be gunners from a visiting regiment. Most appear to wear leather gaiters. The civilians’ clothing and headgear including a Norfolk jacket suggest the 1890s and the setting is in the English countryside. |
