Title | Soldier photographed at Kinmel Camp, Wales |
---|---|
Description |
A black and white photograph of a soldier standing by a stone pillar in a photographer's studio. He is wearing a Simplified tunic, introduced in 1916 as an economy measure and a leather belt with a snake clasp. He is standing beside a balustrade with a small flight of steps and a backdrop behind him. The photograph would seem to be a copy made by Bustin Studios of a postcard as it is inscribed "American Galleries Kimmel Park Nr Rhyl". Kinmel Park Camp was built in 1915 as a training camp for Lord Kitchener’s Army, near Rhyl, Wales. |
