---|---|
Description | Black and white half length photograph of officer wearing Service Dress cap with the crest of the City of Hereford (discontinued in 1915) also tunic, collar and tie with tie pin. Tunic has scalloped edge pockets on the breast and square pockets below the waist. On the reveres of the jacket are the badges of the Herefordshire Regiment. The jacket cuffs have a decorative lace work denoting rank, suggesting this was an early wartime photograph and that his rank was Second Lieutenant. He wears a Sam Browne belt, is resting on a cane, holding gloves and wearing a wristwatch. |
