Description Black and white photograph of young officer in dress uniform sat awkwardly on a bentwood chair. He has a helmet, gloves and sword and is wearing cavalry trousers and boots. His collar badge is the insignia of the Gloucestershire Regiment. Almost concealed behind the chair is the base of a neck clamp used to keep a subject still during a long photographic exposure. There is also some mirror writing at the foot of the plate.
