Leominster's Second Red Cross Sale . SIR F. CAWLEY'S BULL MAKES PIG REALISES € 112 . The second sale promoted by the Leominster and District Farmers ' Union on behalf of the British Farmers ' Red Cross Sale took place on Friday st at the Stock Market . There was hardly so large an attendance as at the sale 15 months ago . Possibly this may be attributed to the shortage of labour and the ' arrears of work on the land . At any rate the farmers and others who were present entered into the business most whole heartedly and generous support for the great Red Cross cause was forthcoming . The event took place in the Stock Market as on the last occasion and the gifts of calves , pigs , poultry , etc. , were placed in the various pens and stalls . The principal gift was a splendid young bull , Liverpool , generous gift of Sir Frederick Cawley , He was brought from Berrington by Mr. Brocklehurst and his gaudy coat of pat- riotic colours proclaimed his mission at the sale . The bull , which was calved on May 10th , 1916 , has a pedigree which goes back to the Tudge of Adforton blood . ( 25140 ) out of Ringdove .
