We regret to state that Pte . Walter Morgan , Herefordshire Regt . , whom we previously re- ported as having been severely wounded in Egypt on April 19th , died on April 24th , the and Mrs. C. Writing on April 13th , Pte . Walter Morgan said : " On the 25th March we were about 14 miles from the Turks ' positions but during the night we got over that distance and halted some distance away from them and on the following rested till about II a.m. morning . We had to go over the hill to make the attack and before many minutes had passed we were in the thick of it . At about 3.30 p.m the battle was in full swing and at about 4.30 a charge was made and the Turks were driven from their trenches . On the fol- lowing morning ( 27th ) the Turks made an attack and I am afraid they paid very heavily don't know how I managed to get out of it without being hit but I suppose there was not one made for me . I expect ou know how many Leominster boys got hit . Jack Pearce , from Orleton , was the first to vet hit in the Herefords . I saw him after is wound was dressed and he was quite cheer- 1 saw Captain Sale after he was hit . He was killed outright . He was very much ked by the men he was in charge of . Well , hope I shall be as lucky the next time we We are off the desert now . I am writing this letter in a barley field in Palestine . I was very pleased to receive the Leominster News . The monthly meeting of the Wigmore Rural there were District Council was neld on Tuesday , when present : ( presiding ) , G. H. Green , T. J. Nott , J. Messrs . L. L. Moore Monnington , with the Clerk and the Surveyor . Vaughan , J. Hamar , James Watkins , W. T. The Clerk read a letter from the collector Council if in the event of his being called up of water rates at Leintwardine asking the the Council would appoint his father to do the work for the time being .

PUSHING THE HUNS .
Sapper F. G. Tunks , R.E. , writes as follows to his sister : We have been busy pushing the Huns back and we have got them on the run , I expect you have seen more than I have in the way of news . I have seen the actual thing , but I am out of it now again for a time so don't worry about me . grand sights on Easter Monday and for four I saw some or five days following . Monday was a very exciting day . It was a treat to see our boys going over the top and taking three or four trenches . We followed on lasted all day . We took miles of trenches and after them . That hundreds of prisoners with very little loss on our side . We started out at 1.20 a.m. and did not get back till after 8 at night , so you see we had a long day , but I quite enjoyed it and we followed on next morning . I can assure you it was very hard work and the weather was very much against us . shells and bullets . Our Sergeant and Sapper We were dodging Rabbath got wounded . Also A. Cooper got a small bit in his leg , but he is all right now . We had one of our working party killed and one wounded , but we were a very lucky com- pany in spite of the exciting time we had .

it is with deep regret that we announce that Pte . John Percy Seager , Border Regiment , has been killed in action in France . - The sad news was conveyed in the following letter from the Rev. C. Langdon , C.F .: " I am writ- ing to express my deep sympathy with you in the loss of your son who was recently killed in action . It will I hope be some consola- tion to you to know that your son fell when nobly doing his duty in his country's cause . He has been buried close to where he fell , side by side with other brave comrades , and substantial cross bearing his name will soon be erected to mark the spot . "
