| Description | Black and white photograph of a print of Sir Samuel Romilly in his legal attire. Born in London the son of French emigres, he trained as a lawyer and became a prominent Whig politician and was knighted for his work. He married Anne Garbett of Knill Court in 1798 and died a month after her in 1818. They are buried at St Michael's, Knill, Herefordshire. |
