| Description | Black and white photograph of Louise Henrietta Luard, first Lady Mayor of Hereford in 1929 and again 1936. Daughter of Rev Sidney Smith, treasurer of Hereford Cathedral. Married to Lt-Col Edward Bourryan Luard in 1905, he was killed in action in the First World War. Louise had a new link added to the Mayoral chain of a jumping Wye salmon. She was awarded the MBE and died at home in Hereford on 21st June, 1945. |
