Title | Dr. Henry Duckworth: Children Joan and Sylvia c.1925 |
---|---|
Description |
Black and white photograph of two small girls holding hands with a young woman dressed in full nurse's uniform. Written on the bottom white border, in the same hand as on Photograph No.1, is "same children". They are stood on a path which runs along a high stone wall behind which are mature trees. Faint features of a building can be seen through the trees. The two girls are Dr. and Mrs Duckworth's daughters, Joan and Sylvia. The nurse is the same person who is wearing the nurse's style head-dress in Photograph No. 1. The wall they are standing in front of is located in the Prospect and the building on the other side is the Royal Hotel. In 1924, Mrs Duckworth advertised for a nurse in the Ross Gazette (September 11, 1924, page 4) "WANTED beginning of October, Good Nurse. Apply, Mrs Duckworth, St. Mary's Street." |
