---|---|
Description |
Black and white photograph showing a man squatting down and holding a fish above a pelican. They are inside a wooden and mesh structure. There is no article heading. The man is the chairman-elect of the Herefordshire branch of the RSPCA, Mr. Ron Watts, who lived at Bridstow. He had collected the captured pelican from a farm in the north of Herefordshire and brought it back to the Wye View Kennels. After making inquiries he found that the pelican had escaped from the West Midlands Wild Life Safari Park at Bewdley. Wye View Kennels was a private boarding establishment run by Mr. and Mrs. D. Lewis and located in Tanyard Lane off Ledbury Road. The Herefordshire branch of the RSPCA used these kennels for stray dogs and cats. Re-homing advertisements regularly appeared in the newspaper. |
