Black and white photograph showing four women sat in a confined space, knitting. Behind them is a large brush painting of an old building with a clock tower. There are reflections and marks in front of them suggesting they are behind glass. The women are participating in a sponsored knit-in to raise funds for Ross Operatic and Dramatic Society (R.O.A.D.S.). They are sat in the window of an empty shop and therefore on view to people passing by. The shop was formerly Raynors which was a Ladies fashion and fabric shop located in the Market Place. Later in the year the building was demolished after it was deemed structurally unsafe A notice in the window states that the knitted squares would be made into blankets and given to Dean Hill Hospital [now called Ross Community Hospital in Alton Street] From left to right, the women are named as: Mrs. J.
