There is no article heading. The occasion is the retirement of Mrs. Eileen Kiernan after nearly 36 years service with Ross Post Office. She is being presented with the Imperial Service Medal for long and meritorious service and a valedictory message from the Post Office. From left to right, the group is named as: Mr. T. P. Evans (assistant head-postmaster at Hereford) Mr. S. Ormsher (staff representative) Mrs. G. M. Perkins Mrs. E. N. Kiernan Mr. G. J. Franks (postmaster at Ross) The Imperial Service Medal is awarded to Civil Servants of certain grades who have completed at least 25 years service. It is only presented on retirement and not at the time when the person has completed their 25 years service. |
