Behind them is a Herefordshire Light Infantry flag draped over a table and a board mounted on the wall giving the regiment's various titles over the years. An associated article on the same page is headed "Volunteer Soldiers become part of West Country unit". From left to right, they are named as: Major C. J. Hale Captain R. E. Purvis Sergeant S. D. James Major Hale is presenting inscribed plaques to Captain Purvis and Sergeant James on the occasion of them both leaving 'D Company' based at the TAVR Centre. Captain Purvis is leaving to become the public relations officer with West Midlands District, and Sergeant James is retiring. |
