Description |
Black and white photograph showing several rows of parked cars on a piece of ground that appears to be on an incline. The car park is located on waste ground that was formerly the site of the primary school on Cantilupe Road. Its use as a car park was intended to be a temporary arrangement until the Council could proceed with their plan to build a new library and magistrate's court on the site. However, work on constructing a new library did not commence until nine years later in 1985. RELATED ITEMS IN THE HEREFORDSHIRE HISTORY COLLECTION. NEWSPAPERS: Ross Gazette September 26, 1985 - Front page "Library Operation Starts. The old school site in Cantilupe Road is now closed to parked cars as the operation of providing a new library for the town starts."
