So you're obviously a very active lady and you mentioned that you'd had quite a lot to do with the Ledbury Carnival. Can you tell us a bit about the history as well? Well, um, in 1953, because that was my first memory of it, uh, it was the coronation, of course. And I, my mum dressed, dressed me and my sister up.

My sister went as, uh, uh, flying colours and I was dressed in red, white and blue. And I came 3rd and I had 3 shillings.

God, it was a lot.

Yes, it was, it was. I'm very proud of this envelope. I really was. And then, then my mum put me in, then I went in every year after that, so that would be 54. What was I in 54? Oh, I was a cowboy, and I think I came second for that. I think, I think I told the judges to stick them up. I think they had the two guns and. That was it, and I went, I came third for that.

And then in 55, 54, 55, I was a jack in the box, and a gentleman name of Mr. Warren, who my mum worked for, he was well known in Ledbury, and he made me a um, a box that covered my three wheel bike, like a, like a jack in the box. And my mum dressed me up as a clown.

And I sat and she pushed me from Long Acres through the Market Street, up, up the new street, down through the Homin, down through the high street, up the Homind to where the Langlands, that's where the ground was, where we used to have the showground.

And then when I was judged, I was in this box and she knocked on the box and I jumped up and I came first.

I did, I came first.
