Tooth, tricycle, representing the Market-house clock, illuminated, and pointing to the actual hour of starting" TURK - MR. W. BARNWELL "Mr. W. Barnwell, as a Turk, on tricycle decorated. [ST. MARY'S CHURCH not mentioned in report] JOCKEY - EDWARD KENDALL PEARSON "Mr. S. K. Pearson, as a jockey, on tricycle with triple floral arch" The name Edward Kendall Pearson is written in blue ink on the photograph with a line drawn to a man dressed as a jockey. He was born in Ross in 1868 so would have been aged 18/19. The previous year he had started his journalist career with the Hereford Times as their Ross correspondent. A detailed account of his life is given in his obituary which appeared in the Ross Gazette, May 30, 1946.

Henry was born in Northants and studied medicine at Northampton Infirmary and Edinburgh and Paris Universities. He came to Hereford in 1841, and began his medical practice at Hereford Dispensary where he practiced for 40 years. He married Elizabeth Read in 1854, had 8 children and died in 1885
