    Description: Black and white photograph of a pupil and teacher, Miss N Simpson, who was also deaf and one of three dedicated teachers a the school. The specialist school for deaf children was privately funded and founded in the mid-Victorian mansion in 1944. It closed shortly after Derek Evans took this series of photographs.
