Hop-picker Beth Hoskins (aged 62) from the Gypsy Traveller community, working at Claston Farm, Dormington. The farm was a major hop-growing enterprise in the county run by former 'hop supremo', Peter Davies. Hand- picking began its decline there in 1957 with the introduction of the Bruff machine, which revolutionised the industry. Appeared in the article ‘Last days of the Hop-pickers’ in England May 1957.
