Three men of different classes are looking on in the background.

They are also wearing rifle belts. Two are seated facing each other both wearing pince nez and the third is standing at ease between them looking at the camera. The officer on the left has insignia at the cuff, possibly denoting he is a Lieutenant. The officer on the right is a Captain.

The alley has been partitioned off inside a large building with steel girders overhead and on the right are wooden chairs of the same style as those in Rotherwas canteen (G36-471-13)The man in the peaked cap at the end dressed in a similar uniform to the supervisor in G36-332-13 .

    Description: Black and white photograph of a young man wearing a Service Dress tunic, collar and tie with a Sam Browne belt but no insignia. There is a white cover over the crown of his Service Dress hat and he has a small stick and gloves in his hand. The white cover and blue patrol jacket worn with collar and tie was optional summer wear for all regiments (Source : Great War Forum). The background is the panelled room often seen in Bustin studio portraits.

He is in full dress uniform with a helmet with spike and chain, infantry sword, breeches and boots. He wears the bugle collar badge of the Herefordshire Rifle Volunteers and is equipped with a dark leather sabretache. In the background are bell tents and the setting is in the English countryside.
