All are wearing field service caps, white belts, puttees and hobnailed Ammo boots. The privates are dressed in khaki drill, with a shoulder flash (HF) and are all holding canes. They have a bugle style cap badge and they are from the 4th Battalion militia of the Herefordshire Rifle Volunteer Corps. The two civilians are older men.
