    Description: A black and white photograph of a framed portrait of an Queen Elizabeth I wearing stiff lace collars and a bejewelled dress. Supposedly painted by Jodocus Hondius (1563-1612), the painting was kept at Newcourt, Bacton, Herefordshire, the residence of Queen Elizabeth I's personal attendant Blanche Parry. In the 1860s, the painting was sold, and was photographed for Walter Pilley in 1886. It was sold again in the 1908 auction of the Jenkins' Collection, where it was sold to a descendant of the Parry family. This painting does bear some resemblance to a portrait if Sir Archibald Macdonald, 1st Baronet (1747-1826), painted by George Romney c.1975 in regards to the attire an pose of the model, though there are differences in the facial features and details of the attire. It could be a copy of that portrait.
