    Description: A colour photograph of the Commercial Junction and Ring Road in Hereford, c1976. The building at the bottom of the junction is Franklin Barnes with Blueschool Street coming in on its right and Commercial Road going out on its left. The brick building in the bottom right is Blueschool which amalgamated with Bishops School in the summer of 1973. The building set back on Commercial Road is the Methodist Church. The white building on the junction is the Kerry Arms with Commercial Street on its right and Union Street to its left. The road going to the top left out of town is Bath Street. The "T" building on its right is the Police Station and the building opposite is Berrows House, home of the local newspapers.

The road coming in from the bottom is the A49 just after the Greyfriars Bridge, Victoria Street continues after the junction. Barton Road is to the left and King Street is to the right going up to the green in front of the Cathedral (not shown). The "T" building at the junction was for the Welsh Water Company.

The Old House is on the bottom edge of HIgh Town. The patch of green in the top of the picture is the oldest Bowling Green in existence, dating from 1484. It has a pub of the same name and entry is from Bewell Street.
