    Description: Colour photograph of an aerial view of The Weir, Kenchester in 1976. It is a listed building. This is the entry on the listed buildings site - Country house. 1784, extended 1929. Stuccoed with hipped Welsh slate roof. Earlier rectangular plan house with central entrance and axial stacks extended to rear west in 1929. Two storeys with cellars and attics, moulded cornice and parapet. East front: two-storey canted bays to ends; five glazing bar sash windows. Central semi-circular plan portico crowned by wrought iron grille, semi-circular headed inner doorway, decorative fanlight and half-glazed door. Interior fittings date mainly from early C20 alterations to the house. Central circular hall of interior echoes circular plan of entrance. The building may have changed a little since this entry was made.

    Description: A black and white photograph of a battalion quarter-master of King's Shropshire Light Infantry. His medals are (L to R) Egypt medal, 1882-1889, probably a long service good conduct medal, India General Services Medal, 1854-1895 or India Medal 1895-1902 and Khedives Star, 1882-1889 awarded by Egypt for service in the Egypt war and campaigns in Sudan. (Source: Victorian Wars Forum.) He was photographed in the studio against a floral backdrop.
