Black and white photograph of a print of John Kyrle, named the Man of Ross. It is taken from a photograph owned late by his kinswoman, Mrs Mary Flack. He was born in Dymock in 1637 and spent his later life in Ross dedicating it to improving his estate, the town of Ross and its poor. John never married. He died on 7th November, 1724 and was buried in the chancel of St Mary's Church, there is also a wall memorial to him.
