    Description: Duplicate of G36-54-002. A black and white photograph of a portrait of Sir Herbert Archer Croft (1868-1915), a Captain enlisted in the Herefordshire Regiment, dated 1900. Beneath are two framed dated coats of arms and a framed letter. One coat of arms reads James Croft Knight (c.1518-1590, ancestor of Sir Archer Croft), and the other coat of arms reads 'Tryumphe o trespas' (possibly Middle English) on the left, and the Latin 'Esse quam videri' (translating as 'to be rather than to seem' in English) on the right. It bears the Royal Warrant and was established in 1843, likely referring to the stand itself rather than the dip, as this was developed in 1852. There is a large group of countrymen standing and sitting in the front, also one lady and a man in military uniform.

On the top of the frame is a coat of arms (one element included in G36-354-02) and on the bottom it says 'Sir James Croft. Defender of Ireland 1551. Comptroller 1550. Obit 1591.' This hangs at Croft Castle, Yarpole, Leominster.
