group, are currently
rehearsing for their next
show The Story of My
Life.
The show covers the life
and times of the
American composer Burt
Bacharach, still going

showcases many of his
most famous hits as well
as songs and dances,
which were very popular
during his life time.
The show’s title is
Bacharach’s first number
one hit which he wrote in
1958 at the start of his
long partnership with the
lyricist Hal David.
The performance dates
are January 29-30 with a
matinee on the Saturday
afternoon.
The tickets are available
to purchase at PCB

Knighton.
MEMBERS of the Rotary
Club of Knighton and
District spent time at
Harry Tuffin stores in
Knighton, and in the
indoor market in
Presteigne, collecting for
charity on the weekend of
December 11 and 12.

Powys have applauded
offenders who repaired an
important part of their
grounds.
The unpaid handymen
rebuilt 10 metres of col-
lapsed stone wall at St
Edward’s Church,
Knighton, as part of an ini~
tiative to help make
amends for their crimes
St Edward‘s treasurer
John Watson said: “We‘re
delighted by this work
under the Community
Payback scheme. The
offenders were motivated
and inspired by their
supervisor and they gained
personal esteem and a
sense of achievement.
“As a church council we’d
spent a long time trying to
work out how we could pay
for these repairs so this
project was very welcome."
Before starting the work

supervisor Rod Evans. of
the Wales Community
Rehabilitation Company
tCRC). took advice from
local stonemason Keith
Jones. He took a course to
learn the skills needed to
rebuild the wall then
trained a team of offenders
to work on the project.
Rod Evans said: “This was
a substantial project and
my team found it really
rewarding: they have con-
tributed positively to the
