the elderly
A HEREFORD care worker
has pleaded guilty to steal:
ing £420 in cash from the
homes of two elderly people.
Kylie Marie Griffiths, 26.
of Sherborne Close, Newton
Farm, admitted taking £320
belonging to John Gregory
between June 14 and 19 last
year.
She also pleaded guilty to
stealing £100 and a makeup
compact valued at £15 from
Irene Roberts between April
and October last year.
Mark Soper, prosecuting at
Hereford Magistrates’ Court.
last Thursday, said Griffiths
worked as a domiciliary
care worker and visited and
supervised people in their
own homes.
The court heard she had
done this job since Septem-
ber 2014.
“This was a breach of
trust,” said Mr Soper.
“Mrs Roberts had become
incapacitated after suffer-
ing a stroke and her family
had become concerned after

goods were going missing so
put CCTV cameras up.”
“Mr Gregory is a widower
and can only use the down-
stairs of his home and has
limited movement due to
Parkinsons disease.
“His daughter looks after
him but in January she
went on holiday and left an
envelope to pay for building
work being done which was
addressed to the builders.
“When his daughter re.
turned the money had been
taken but the envelope had
been left. Griffiths’ finger-
prints were found on the
envelope.”
Magistrates adjourned
sentencing in order for a
full probation report to be
prepared.

The Wassail is a mid
winter festival designed
to wake up the apple trees
and encourage them to
produce a good harvest.
Everyone is welcome and
