AMERICAN tourist Sylvia Fawcett took this picture of cyclists near Leintwardine while enjoying a holiday' In Herefordshire.
She entered this image in a photography competition organised by the Mortimer Country Consortium to promote tourism in the north of the county.
The loreign visitor kindly asked for her prize money to be donated to the Midlands Air Ambulance after finishing as runner—up in the contest.

IT SEEMS hard to picture it now but the old photograph above shows the view towards the junction of Whitecross Road and Eign Street in Hereford.
The picture was taken in January of 1976 when caravans, believed to have been owned by members of the travelling community, were removed from
Barton Yard. The route is now most familiar to those shopping at Sainsbury's supermarket or parents and pupils making their way to Lord Scudamore
Primary School.
