Kington Market, January 5
McCARTNEYS report a good entry
of cattle for their January sale of
store cattle, together with the disper-
sal sale of the Lyonshall pedigree
Limousin herd.
The store cattle trade is still under
pressure due to fat cattle prices par-
ticularly on the older stronger store
cattle. Younger and lighter store cat-
tle would sell to the best trade in
terms of pence per kilogram.
The trade at Kington would be as
good as anywhere and with the store
cattle looking a particulariy good
trade compared to what similar cattle
are worth when sold fat at present.
Again quality cattle sold to market
premiums and those that would hit
the super market specs.
We had a good contingent of buyers
which competed well for the cattle.
The cattle at this sale would be varia—
ble sorts.
January cattle sale prices were as
follows:
Top price paid for cattle on the day
was £1050 for some Charolais heif-
ers from LJ Hamer and Son.

Pedigree Limousin Herd on behalf of

ring of potential purchasers.

well know pedigrees such as
