l4Z It'll: Hthl'UHU llMtb Inursoay. January /, zuto neretorotimescom Sportsdesk phone: 01432 845810 email: sport@herefordtimes.com Young fans are crucial THE possibility of a relaunch of the Junior Bulls Supporters Club (J BSC) probably wouldn‘t have been on anyone’s mind this time last year, but with the amazing comeback the club has made this season I‘m pleased to say that we are now in the process of doing exactly that. At the start of the season, I volun- teered as a matchday programme seller and I soon noticed how many youngsters and families were com- ing along displaying their scarves. replica tops and even waiting out- side the players entrance to catch a glimpse of the team arriving, or even managing to grab an auto; graph as players got out of their cars. Following a brief conversa- tion with chairman Jon Hale, it was evident how important our young supporters are and. within a few days. he asked if I would co- ordinate and lead the re-launch of the Junior Bulls Supporters Club. Having been involved with the original Junior Bulls in the 19905. I was excited and pleased to be get- ting involved again. lt’s been great to see those past Junior Bull members new signing their youngsters up — these genera— tions are the making of the HFC family. To date, we have 280 mem- bers from birth to lS-years-old, who have taken advantage of free membership, including freebies, for the remainder of this season. A keen supporter even joined up his newly born twins within 24 hours. In the summer, we are going to launch our 2016/17 paid mem- bership package which will include lots of benefits for Junior Bulls members, plus goodies and events to follow. There will also be newsletters, birthday cards and exclusive Junior Bull Supporters merchan- dise. Many of our new members this season have already taken part in half-time penalty shoot-outs and one of our competition winners won the chance to be match mas— cot. The next involvement for the Junior Bulls will be acting as guard of honour on matchdays. We firmly believe that our young supporters are the future of Hereford FC and, by getting them involved and feeling part of the club. it will help to build a firm foundation which will ultimately help secure the future of our club. We always welcome new mem- bers, so if you'd like to join the JBSC, please e—mail juniorbulls@ herefordfc.co.uk for more details. _._ .4..‘9_._. -. Pablo Haysham seen here in earlier in the season, scored Hereford’s winner against AFC Wulfrunians with a free-kick 14 minutes from time n A dFCZ FC Wulfrunians 1 Herefor Bulls hailed by boss as remarkable run goes on By Paul Rogers 01432 845870 pro 'herefordtimescom Twitter if HTnewsroom HEREFORD FC manager Pete Beadle says his players deserve a lot of credit after they ground- ed an excellent 2-1 away win at AFC Wulfrunians. For long periods of the game, it looked like Hereford’s long win- ning sequence would come to an end. with Wulfrunians much the better side in the first half. But a fabulous free-kick by Pa- blo Haysham with 14 minutes go secured the three points, ensur- ing the Bulls have now won 26 games in a row. “It was very hard fought be- cause for long periods, we weren’t quite at it,” said Beadle. ”But, second half, we managed to get the result. “It’s a tough league because everyone wants to beat us and it‘s tough to maintain a certain level of performance, so credit must go to the players.” However, despite the victory, Beadle felt his side’s work rate was off key in the first half. "We got our noses in front and had a great chance to make it 2-0,” said Beadle. “We got a little bit sloppy, so I changed it at the back, and in header the second half we shaded it.” Despite the pitch being very heavy due to a lot of rain fall- ing before the game, both sides were very open and the match could have gone either way. “There weren’t many clear-cut chances and neither keeper had a huge amount to do, but there was still a lot of goalmouth ac- tion,” added Beadle. Beadle praised the large Hereford following who sang throughout the game. “What was great was the supporters could see that we weren't ouite at. it and in the + Mike Symons (left) opened the scoring for Hereford with a first-half second half they really got be— hind the players and sang their hearts out,” he said. “They really are our 12th man.” Hereford opened the scoring afier 19 minutes when Mike Symons headed home Ryan Green’s cross. But the home side soon levelled when Jamie ' King expertly dispatched Ricky Anslow’s pass. King almost put Wulfrunians ahead when he tested Martin Horsell in the Hereford goal just before half-time before Haysh- am hit the crossbar 13 minutes after the break. Referee Mark Groves then missed a clear handball in the penalty area after he bizarrely awarded a corner to Wulfruni- ans despite no Hereford player touching the ball. The end-to-end game later saw John Mills hit the bar for the Bulls before Anthony Robbins headed over. The winning goalcame in the 76th minute when Haysham ex- pertly fired home a free-kick.
