TWO new exhibitions open
tomorrow at The Courtyard,
the first in the Gallery Space
sees a multi-faceted exhibit
from Pandora Vaughan and
Joe Carcary
Pandora Vaughan’s work
uses object painting, textiles,
assemblage, block printing
and gardening, and feamres
both nostalgic and futuristic .
pieces. Her work deals with
land use, power and the occa-
sional failure of collective
memory in the public realm.
Since 2003 she has collaborat-
ed with Welsh architect Huw
Owen to produce cross disci-
plinary art/architecture/land-
scape projects under the name
V&amp;O, mainly in North Wales.
To complement Vaughan’s
pieces, Joe Carcary makes
paintings and objects rooted

“Through a manipulation of
light and form, I use opposites
to shape contrasting edges and
link them through hapless
boundaries where connections
arise and unfold in a rhythmic
dreamlike resonance,” says
