TABLE TENNIS
A MARDEN youngster is to
represent Wales in an inter-
national table tennis tour-
nament this weekend.
Ben Allen, 12, only took up
the sport two years ago but
regularly competes against
players much older than
him.
The Hereford Table Tennis
Club member will be taking
part in a team tournament
in the Welsh Euro
Challenge at the Sport
Wales National Centre in
Cardiff on Saturday, before
taking part in the singles
event the following day.
It comes on the back of
him competing in the
Cippenham Team Two Star
Open in Berkshire, along-
side fellow Hereford Tennis
Club player Piotr Sniezek.
“Ben has won quite a few
events in Wales, so we are
looking at the bigger tour-
naments now," said Ben’s
father Jon Allen, who also
used to play for Wales.
“There’s not much around
for Under-13s though, so
he’s been playing in Under-
15, Under-16 and senior
