18 THE HEREFORD TIMES Man fined for refusing to leave a city street .—\ HEREFORD man who re- fused to leave a city street after he had been drinking has been fined. Joshua Nen'bury. 23, of Golden Post. Hunderton. appeared before city Mag istrates last week to admit failing to comply with an antisocial behaviour act and to possessing cannabis. The court heard on De- cember 6. Newbury had been thrown out of The Exchange in Widemarsh Street. He became aggres— sive towards the door staff and when police attended and asked him to leave the ‘ area. he became abusive. When he was searched cannabis found on him. Emma Presser. defending. said Newbury accepted that he had been asked to leave the pub. but that he had then realised the keys to his tlat were with his girlfriend who was inside the pub. Magistrates fined him £75 for being in possession of cannabis. and fined him £50 for failing to comply with an antisocial behaviour or« der. Lucy Hurds. the Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate. handed in a list topping 1.300 signatures at Herefordshire Council‘s main city headquarters. She said the businesses are well-established and a plan to bring housing would result in a loss of jobs. Wye Valley NHS Trust is advising people to use alter- natives to the A&E depart— ment at Hereford County Hospital. If your condition or injury is not serious, the advice is to call NHS 111, use the GP walk-in centre in Hereford, the Minor Injury Units at Ross and Leominster Com- munity Hospitals, see your local GP or seek advice from your local pharmacy. Richard Beeken, the trust’s chief executive. admitted doctors were struggling to see all patients in a reason- able time. He said: “Many of the pa- tients are very poorly and require a longer stay in hospital than expected, but we‘ve had people turn up with non-urgent conditions which could be seen and treated using alternatives.
