REAPING BENEFIT FROM THE EXPERIENCE OF PHOCLE GREEN PEOPLE . We are fortunate indeed to be able to profit by the experience of our neighbours . The public utterances of local residents on the following subject will interest and benefit thousands of our readers . Read this state- ment . No better proof can be had . Mr. G. Jones , who lives close to the Post Office , Phocle Green , near Ross , says : " I get a lot of bending in my work as a gar- dener , and , f course , if the back is not well it is very trying work .
" Whenever I have got cold and my back has been painful I have always had splendid relief from Doan's backache kidney pills . They keep me fit , and free of kidney com- plaint , and I always recommend them .. ( Signed ) G. Jones . "

The following table gives the averages of all members who obtained an average of 96 or over during the Summer League matches of the Hereford County Miniature Rifle Association . The averages are for 75 per cent scores of the total matches arranged . In some cases members who shot well did not return sufficient scores to qualify for the average prize . and their scores are not given . Mr. A. U. Zimmerman , of Tarrington , came on the top with a fine average of 99.42 . Of the seven cores counted he only dropped four points . Mr. Zimmerman won the silver medal presented by the Association . For the second season Mr. G. Bowkett takes second place , and his score , only two points below the winner , is worthy of mention . Fourteen competitors have averages of over 97 , which proves the excellency of the marks- manship amongst the Association members . Details : - INDIVIDUAL AVERAGES , 1914 . 7 best No of Scores H.P.S. For Coats a marked change in styles is to be seen , as all the most exclusive models are three - quarter and seven - eighth length with full skirts , some of the more extreme measuring no less than five yards round at the foot . Such Furs as Mole , Seal , and Natural Musquash , and the finest of Russian Foals trimmed with contrasting furs , are much favoured .
For Muffs and Ties such standard furs as White and Black Fox , Skunk , Natural and Shaded Marten , and Sables are in demand , while for less expensive wear Ermine , Natural Fitch , Sable - dyed Kolinsky , Skunk Opossum , Natural clear grey Squirrel , Bear , and Black Wolf are very popular .
Far garments can be made to measures , and , if desired , from skins selected by the customer . Illustrated Book of Furs sent on request to intending purchasers . Furs sent on approbation on receipt of particulars .

nearly 400 lots of apples , pears , walnuts , Mr. George B. Kemp had on Thursday last potatoes , onions , etc. , on offer , which were all sold . We are sorry to notice that so many small and rough apples , inclding wind- falls , are being sent in to the market , and hope that in future the growers will send in a better sample of produce . There is a good demand for first - grade table and cooking fruit , which made satisfactory prices , but for Bass's small and 1ough fruit there was not any demand , and prices were small . Some pears in boxes sold well , also walnuts .
SPECIAL FARMERS ' UNION REPORT .. Hereford , Wednesday .
