The following discussion took p last Saturday's meeting of the Heref County Council in respect to a prote Ross Rural District Council against t for the Ross Secondary School be tended .
Sir JAMES RANKIN said the Ed Committee ad taken no action , considered the area to he rated rest Sir James the County Conncil . was bound to state he thought it w fairer if a little alteration of area wa ed , because the rating would then f a greater number of parishes . The as far as he could see , would he ve on any of these parishes . At Walfor Mr. Collins represented , the charg be £ 11 .
It s
Alderman BULMER remarked t ratepayers in Ross Urban had to co out of the rates , in addition to the f per annum per pupil , £ 13 per pupil were twenty pupils from Ross Urb forty - one from Ross Rural . If the could not see its way to make any asked by the Ross ratepayers , he the least the Education Committee in justice to the ratepayers was to a differential scale of fees . great injustice to the ratepayers Urban that the rural areas should ing double the number of pupils an buting nothing out of the rates . It dent that the rural districts obtain fits beyond what they paid for . Mr. E. W. LANGFORD said it w greatest possible importance that dren living in the rural districts sho free places . A smart child in a r trict could not gain access to the S School , because the Rural District refused to sanction a rate for the pu education .
Mr. MURDOCH said the speaker to blackball the Rural District Cour would remember that Ross Urban a agreed upon terms to build the School , but afterwards Ross Urban ed the Education Committee bel Rural Council , and volunteered to school . They turned the Rural Co quickly . Mr. COLLINS : We have a grea say on this joint . The members of Rural Council are being maligned . Mr. MURDOCH , continuing , sa more money to bring the pupils than anything which the ratepay To talk about raising the fees woul culous . He thought the Rural Council of Ross had been trea shabbily .
Mr. COLLINS suggested that matter should he deleted from th tee's report . In his opinion , if was adopted . It would mean that B ( Cries ) District would he rated . no . " )
