Arthur Matthews , Morse - road , Dry brook , James Frederick Thomas , commercial traveller , Cinderford , and Mr. Ivo Baldwin , J.P. , all said defendant was drunk . - Mr . Lane now withdrew the plea of not guilty , and said that on his advice his client would admit the offence . - The Court retired to consider the case , and on their return to the Bench the Chairman said the offence was serious in itself , and was the more so in his case , having regard to his position in the trade .
