ROYAL AGRICULTURAL BENEVOLENT SOCIETY . -Mr . Cooper , the Hon . Secretary of the ahove Society , attended the Ross and South Hereford Point - to - Point Steeplechases , and after luncheon a collection was made in aid of the agricultural pensioners , when £ 3 15s . was contributed . A sum of £ 1 10s . was afterwards added to make up £ 5 58. , a suffi- cient sum to obtain a life vote , and this was accorded to Mr. Harold Morgan , who , with his father , Mr. J. P. First En- First En- THE SECONDARY SCHOOL . - The Hereford- shire Higher Education Committee have con- sidered a letter from the Governors stating that they desire to rent about four acres of land as a playing field , at a rental of £ 11 per annum , and inquiring whether the Governors shall enter into an agreement , or whether this should be done by the County Council . As the school is vested in the County Coun- cil , the Committee recommended that the County Council enter into an agreement with the landlord , as was done in the case of the Leominster Secondary School , it being understood that the rent would be paid by the Governors . The Governors further ap- plied for approval to the following altera- tions in the school prospectus , viz . , a charge . for games ( optional ) of 1s , 6d . per term . a charge for dancing ( optional ) of 10s . 6d , per term , a charge of 6d . per day , or 2s . 3d . per week for dinners ( optional ) : the charge for terminal boarding to be raised from 11 to 12 guineas , It was also suggested that scholarship pupils should be required to give similar notice of leaving to ordinary pupils , or pay a term's fee in lieu of notice , and the committee recommended that all the altera- tions suggested be approved .
