TRAIN ALTERATIONS . - Special attention is called to the following alterations in the local railway time table . The arrangements will commence on Monday next , and the following comprise the princi- pal alterations : -The 6.20 a.m. from Here- ford to Gloucester will start at 6.15 a.m. , and be earlier throughout . OLD Ross Bor's BRAVERY . - During the re- cent fire which occurred in the bunker of the steamer " Polamhall , " in the Port Pirie Harbour , a Ross boy named Davis , whose parents reside in New - street , together with his fellow foreman named Kellett , had a very narrow escape from losing his life . The following is taken from an Adelaide paper : -During their 18 - hours ' shift the men dis- played great courage . Foremen Kellett and Davis both had narrow escapés from losing their lives by suffocation . Together with another fireman they entered the affected area . They had to work in great heat , and the smoke and gases from the smouldering coal made breathing very difficult . Foreman Kellett ,, who had made several previous trips into the burning bunker ,. felt himself being overcome by the fumes , and commenc- ed to crawl out , when he heard one of the firemen say , " Davis is done , sir . " The next moment Foreman Davis collapsed . Bravely risking his own life , Foreman Kellett secured . a rope which he attached around Davis ' CHESTER RACES . - An excursion will run to waist , and assisted to drag him on deck , Chester and Liverpool on Wednesday . The from Mr. George Onions dealing wi Tudorville to Duxmere path had bee sidered , and on the Surveyor statin the tenant had removed the manure they decided that nothing further co done in the matter . Mr. MATTHEWS asked if somethin not be done to firm the ashes on the path across the farm premises . At n the people trespased upon the tenant ' rather than walk on these ashes , something could be done to preve trespass , it would be greatly apprecia the tenant of the farm and the users path .
