The last of the three days ' Christmas foot- of the League was , like that of Boxing Day , ball among the clubs of the Second Division noteworthy for the number of victories gained by teams playing at home . No fewer than seven of those who enjoyed advantage of ground were successful ; Glossop and Hull City could only draw , while to Woolwich Arsenal fell the distinction of being the only visiting side to win . This triumph of the North London olub , on the Filbert - street ground at Leicester , crowned a most success- ful three days . On Christmas Day they won at Bradford , followed that by beating Brad- ford in the return the following afternoon at Highbury ; and , as already observed , wound up with another away victory over Leicester Fosse . No other club in the competition can point to such a record , Hull City and Leeds City , who had won their first two games , only drawing on Saturday - Hull at home with Blackpool , and Leeds at Glossop . Two clubs , in Huddersfield Town and Leicester Fosse , lost all three holiday engagements . The amateur golf championship of India has again been won by a Scotsman , Mr. G. C.
