SECOND SHEET . ADDRESSES . Ring Out , Wild Bells ! Ring out , wild bells . to the wild sky , The flying cloud , the frosty light ; The year is dying in the night ; Ring out , wild bells . and let it die . Ring out vain ostentations Iure ; The costly car , the lust of power . . Ring out all disappointments sour . Ring in the ear of which your sure . Ring out the god of heavy weight- That wasteful god with feet of clay , At whose dead altar you must pay , And keep on paying - which you hate . Let's talk of service - oomfort - ease ; The great gay road ; the far blue hills ; The good brown earth the ploughnan tills ; The wether's bell , the drone of bees . Let's talk of how we may attain The peaks of song ; drink in the air ; Throw off the burden of despair ; And all the joy of youth regain . In short let's talk about the Ford , That brings all these within the ken Of downcast , sad - eyed sons of men . Because the Ford they can afford . The car that rides the road aright . " The car that gives you all you need- Efficient service , healthy speed , The ever ready - day and night . Ring in the car that gives you far More than the other car can give , Save only the decorative . Ring in the " Universal Car , " The oar that's light in weight ; the car That's economical to run ; That costs you least ; that gives most fun ; The quiet , sturdy , long - lived car . " Ring out the cause of bitter tears , The car that stultifies you quite ; Your year is dying in the night . Your Ford will not be dead for years ! Ring out all else save Model T. Ring out the car you can't afford . Ring in the car you can - the Ford ! Lest you forget F. O. R. D ! PARNELL , AT RUARDEAN . FATALLY BURNED AT THE RECTORY . The distressing circumstances which sur- rounded the death of Mrs. Parnell , wife of the Rev. Edward Parnell , Rector of Ruar- dean , will be read with the greatest regret by all our readers , and the greatest sympathy will be extended to the Rector on his sudden and tragic bereavement . The death of Mrs. Parnell took place on Saturday , at mid - day , as a result of her being shockingly burnt on the previous day , Friday , From the information to hand , we understand that Mr. and Mrs. Parnell had been partak- ing of tea in their bedroom , Mrs. Parnell having suffered from indifferent health for some time past . But on the Rector leaving the room for a few minutes , Mrs. Parnell took a candle and went into an adjoining room , and in so doing the light from the candle caught the shawl she was wearing over her shoulders , and this was almost im- mediately in full blaze . The flames quickly spread to her other clothes , and although assistance was promptly secured , and the flames extinguished after great difficulty , Mrs. Parnell was so shockingly and badly burnt , that it was at once seen that the case was a hopeless one . This unexpected accident happened at about 6.30 on Friday evening , and at once Mr. J. P. Evans and Mr. James Whitti ton went to the rescue , and succeeded in ex- tinguishing the flames . Dr. Campbell was sent for ; but unfortunately Dr. Camp- bell was out , and the services of Dr. F. G. Miles were immediately requisitioned , and he came at once , dressed the burns , and did everything in his power for the deceased lady , whose sufferings must have been really terrible . Mrs. Miles , the wife of the doctor , also stayed with Mrs. Parnell and nursed her during the night , but Mrs. Parnell gradu- ally grew weaker , and passed away about noon on the Saturday . For over twenty years the Rev. Edward Parnell has been Rector of Ruardean , and the shock which Mrs. Parnell's death , under such awful circumstances . caused in the locality , at once aroused the deepest sympathy amongst the parishioners , for although Mrs. Parnell had passed her days of activity as a worker in the parish , she being in her 80th year , her death will cause a vacancy in the life of the parish which will be deplored by all . An inquest was held at the Rectory on Saturday evening , when Mr. J. W. Guise , the newly - appointed Coroner , inquired into the circumstances , Mr. Joseph Baldwin being foreman of the jury . The principal witness was the Rector . He stated that the deceased had been in ill- health for a month past . On the afternoon of the 16th inst .. he took tea with her in her bedroom ; she was in bed . A little later he went to the library downstairs to do some correspondence , and in half an hour sent the servant to see that her mistress wa comfortable . She returned with a satisfac tory message , but a moment later he heard deceased call Edward " and scream . He rushed up the stairs and saw deceased aflame . There was immediately plenty of help , and the burning garments were brush- ed down and the fire put out . They applied oil and flour , and sent for a doctor . De ceased became unconscious and died the next HENTLAND . NATIONAL CONSERVATIVE LEAGUE . Festal Responses . Te Deum Smart in F. Hymns - There was a large attendance of members of the lodge at the New Inn , Hentland , on Saturday evening , when Bro . J. Parry , the Master , presided over smoking concert . Since the lodge was re - standing on the landing , her clothing all opened at the commencement of the winter , nearly sixty members have been enrolled . Bro . A. W. Foster , of Brockhampton Court , the Deputy Provincial Grand Master , at- tended and gave an address on most of the important questions which were now occupy- ing the attention of both political parties . A miscellaneous musical programme gave all present an opportunity of spending a very pleasant evening together . 447 , 431. Dresden Amen . 6.30 p.m. EVENSONG and SERMON . Eestal Responses . Albright is the Master , was at How Caple Grange , the residence of Capt . T. Raymond Symons and Mrs. Symons , on Saturday , when a goodly company of the supporters and followers of the hounds assembled . After partaking of the hospitality of the genial host , the field moved off in the direction of Perrystone , where a fox was soon found . A very sporting run of about 40 minutes was enioyed by the field present , but the Master called the hounds off , as he did not wish to encroach on the Ledbury country . Sport in the afternoon was not so good , as scent failed . LYDBROOK . day . Dr. Campbell stated the cause of death was exhaustion following the burns , and this was the jury's verdict . The Coroner and foreman expressed sym- pathy , and Mr. Parnell said they had lived together 48 years , and travelled all over the world . She was a beautiful wife , he said falteringly . The interment took place in Ruardean Churchyard on Tuesday afternoon , and it was very largely attended by parishioners and other friends . FOOTBALL . RESULTS AT A GLANCE .
