A tie ! Such was the result of the game between the Ross first eleven and Holmer on the ground of the latter club on Saturday afternoon . It is not often that such a result has to be recorded by the Ross Olub , and this ought not to have been the case on Satur- day . The game was full of interest , as the scores below will show . THE HOUSING QUESTION . - The housing question was considered at a meeting of Ruardean ratepayers on Tuesday night , Mr. E. C. M. Bennett , Chairman of the Parish Council , presiding . Reference was made to what was being done elsewhere in the Forest ; at Cinderford , for example , a Public Utility Company had been formed . In the end a Committee was appointed to what could be done either by joining one of the other companies formed , or by the crea- tion of a company for their own district.- Mr. Ivo Baldwin , the assistant overseer , made a statement as to rating . He stated that the new county rate basis put them nearly £ 900 above the poor rate assessment . the Parish Council to put things right . He pointed out that rates were payable on de- mand , and if everyone paid promptly they could do without the considerable balance at the bank which now represented a sum of about 5d . in the £ .
