Is it, could, could you think of some of the things that have changed in Ledbury since you've known the area? Some of it's the smells actually. Um, I remember particularly the string works and during the hot weather there in B Street and during the hot weather they used to fling the doors open so you've got all the dust and the bits of jute flying around, but there was a smell of burning jute in the air over quite a lot of that area of Ledbury. And that's from a very sort of fairly young age, I remember that. And in High Street, they had um I can't remember the name now of the greengrocers, but in the winter, in the winter, in the window, they had a coffee grinding machine and that used to be going from quite an early time and all that area, it was just the smell of coffee being you know, ground. Um, in that area, so smell, the smell of grass tracking, they used to do grass track racing in and, well, not in, but around Ledbury, and the smell of that used to waft over Ledbubury too. So it's a lot of it is to do with smell. |
