A black and white photograph of Captain Sir Herbert Archer Croft Bt. of Lugwardine Court and serving in the Herefordshire Regiment . He was one of the first recruits in the county and country and offered to raise a company of 150 men to bring the battalion up to strength. He was born in 1868 and reported missing in the Dardanelles August 1915.(Source Hereford Times 28th August 1915). His memorial plaque is at St Micheal and All Angels churchyard, Leominster. |
